A conflict of interest exists when personal activities or relationships influence or appear to influence business decisions.

Employees must avoid any relationship or activity that conflicts with Cummins’ interests or that impairs independent judgment when conducting Cummins business. This includes:

  • Personal relationships that influence, or appear to influence, decisions related to hiring, performance or business outcomes.
  • Personal investments and financial interests in companies that do business with Cummins or are competitors of Cummins.
  • Outside business activities that interfere with duties at Cummins or create competing obligations.
  • Business courtesies to or from third parties that distort, or appear to distort, the strictly commercial nature of any business dealings.
  • Corporate opportunities, including the use of Cummins' resources, confidential information, or one’s position for personal gain or to benefit another business.
